If you're interested in volunteering with us, please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator at kelly@darbster.com for further details!

We are specifically in search of a volunteers at our partner store, the Hooksett Petco!

Darbster Foundation sincerely appreciates the dedication and loyalty of our community volunteers. Without you, we could not provide the same level of care and compassion that the animals we shelter so greatly deserve. To help us in our mission to ensure that each animal we rescue receives the best possible environment while they await their forever homes, we seek volunteers in the following areas:

  • Kitten care
  • Foster care
  • Transport

Foster Care

What is a Foster?
A Foster provides a temporary home for kittens and/or dogs, until they are ready for adoption. Fostering an animal requires a more significant commitment than volunteering at the shelter.

How long can I be a Foster?
Fostering can last anywhere from a few days to a few months, depending on the needs of the animal. We always have a need for foster homes throughout the year.

What costs will I be responsible for?
Darbster Kitty will provide you with all of the supplies you will need to care for the foster animal. This includes medications, follow-up veterinary visits, food, litter, bedding, bowls, crates, collars and leashes. Fosters are responsible for transportation to and from the shelter for check-ups and medical care.

What requirements are we looking for?
Fosters must be at least 18 years old or have an adult in the household who will be the primary caregiver. If fostering a dog, all dogs must be kept on a leash or supervised in an enclosed area when outside. Cats and kittens must be kept inside at all times.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
